1/9 plate ruby ambrotype of an unidentified soldier from Company F of the 12th New Hampshire Volunteers. He has thankfully shown us the top of his forage cap that identifies his unit. Of particular interest is the artfully assembled muskets over his head. I've not ever seen that before. The 12th was organized at Concord, NH on 9/10/1862. They served in the Eastern Theater and were heavily engaged at: Chancellorsville (356 casualties), Gettysburg (107 casualties), Cold Harbour (165 casualties), Petersburg (33 casualties) and many more engagements. This image comes in a thermoplastic case that is nearly perfect. #13490=$650.00
