A 1/6th plate ruby ambrotype of a handsome unidentified Confederate soldier. The image is bright with good clarity. The
soldier is wearing a gray jacket of coarse material with service color trim. That trim appears to be a light color probably
yellow indicating cavalry or light blue indicating infantry. There are six buttons visible that have been gilted. The top
button appears to be different than the others. It appears to be a two piece button with a rim where the others are one
piece and do not have the rim. The second button but appears to have raised letters and something in the center but the
focus is too soft to identify the device. The soldier is sitting in front of a painted backdrop with drapes, a cord, and what looks l
ike buildings in the background. I've searched for the background over the years but have not seen another image with it.
The image comes in a half leatherette case. #CA1050=$700.00
