This 1/6 plate tintype is most unfortunate. The tin is sealed to a piece of cover glass. This is the reason you always put
the mat between the image and the glass so that this doesn't happen. Regardless, the topic is fantastic with a large portion of
this flag's canton exposed in the image. The soldiers both wear shell jackets with shoulder tabs and kepis. My scans over emphasize
the haziness in the emulsion, but I couldn't get a better scan for the life of me. The image has an additional piece of glass on top of
the mat and comes in a full case that has been repaired at the spine. #9807=$100.00
