I think I can make out the head and top of one folded wing of a Confederate Army Staff Officer's button that is just below the mat. All of the buttons have been guiled except those
below the mat. I'm not 100% sure, but that's what I think I see. Regarding the image in general. This Officer wears a blue tinted coat with three rows of buttons. There are
