is little doubt in my mind that this is a Confederate. The image is well focused around the face and the kepi.
Take note of the leather band on the kepi. You can actually see the photographer's box camera (as a shadow) and
the back light in the studio. This recruit has just enlisted & gotten his kepi, but nothing else. I guess that
comes tomorrow. The image, as stated, is crisp around the face and hat area, but a little weak on the lower
