This is one of those rare daguerreotypes of a military soldier. This could be either very early civil war or Mexican war. No way to tell.
This is a 1/9 plate image that comes in a 1/2 thermoplastic case. There is some solarization at the left hand margin of the image as can
be seen in the scan. There is a missing area of emulsion on the soldier's right chest area. Of interest is the card in the
back of the image from a Boston Daguerreotypist. #3586=$195.00
