1/6 Plate tintype of an unidentified private wearing his frock coat, cartridge and cap box, heavy gloves, cross
belt with plate and kepi with a corp badge. His rifle has its cleaning rod, sling and bayonet. His empty bayonet
scabbard on his hip leads me to believe that this is not a prop, but rather his actual rifle. The image is dark as
seen in the scan with a couple of creases (also seen in the scan). This tin looks like it was originally a 1/8 plate, but
the button has been folded over (at his feet) to fit into a 1/6 plate case. This appears to have been done originally.
