This 1/6 plate tintype is narrowly trimmed, but contained by the mat. There is a soft bend vertically across the waist of this soldier who wears a 9-button frock coat and holds his musket. The the reverse of the image, it identifies that this cost $1.25 andgive the initials, D.D.M. (or maybe W), Reading, Pa June 10/62. I imagine that this was his enlistment photo with a brand-new coat and musket. The image is pretty crisp. It comes in a full leatherette case with its original spine. #13415=$450.00
